The community of Call of Duty is fully aware of what happens when you enable voice chat during lobbies and/or proximity voice chat during matches. There are hundreds of memes related to the former, and the arrival of the latter in Warzone saw people singing, players gathering to do silly things, and other various crazy things.
We’ve had a busy weekend playing the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 closed beta, but there’s still plenty more shooting to do: the open beta kicks off this weekend. And if it’s been chaos over the past few days, just wait until you see the madness that’s about to come.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 “Get behind you, moron!” craze
Activision has (almost) inadvertently delivered a cocktail as dangerous as it is hilarious during the Black Ops 6 beta: proximity voice chat and the mechanic of using adversaries as human shields. Treyarch confirmed that attacker and victim could hear each other while performing this new movement during matches. “Be nice,” they said in the beta. tweet oficial
What’s the end result of all this? Well, the inevitable: anger, laughter, jokes and crazy things so crazy that they make a compilation of the best moments. And that’s why we’re here. If you haven’t played yet, here’s a little preview of what awaits you if you don’t watch your back.
We started strong with the tweet de @chubzdpt. “We are going to be a problem in Black Ops 6“He says, sharing a video in which he and his friend use two opponents as human shields and pretend to force them to kiss. His voice is hilarious and he keeps asking if he wants another kiss. The situation is completely absurd and very funny, although his victims do not react.
“Maybe I need therapy after this…” says @Tridzo on Twitter by sharing his experience during the beta of Black Ops 6. Remember when your mom told you to be careful when you go out because there are a lot of crazy people on the loose? Well, she ran into one because she wasn’t watching her back. Another player took him as a human shield and… the scene tells itself. “What are you doing up here?” she asks him, catching him by surprise.
Not all players can handle the pressure of being a human shield for their opponent, even when they have a very powerful voice. Instagram player JayTheGam3r share a video
Needless to say, not all captors are so weird and suggestive, some opt for humor. The content creator Tyler Wine shares a video in which he takes another player as a human shield, asks him how he is and if he is enjoying the video game, and finally throws himself into the void of the map with his victim, laughing.
And where are the clips of players screaming like crazy and without sense? It is part of the essence of voice chat in Call of Duty. “The voice chat with human shields in BO6 is amazing,” reads the description of a video showing one player taking another hostage. The latter starts screaming as if his life depended on it, perhaps in an attempt to get released. It’s a bit off-putting and a good reason to disable voice chat.
And finally, a mix of the last two examples: a captor who chooses to jump into the void with his victim and a hostage who screams for his life, although this time you can perfectly understand what he says: “Oh, please! (x3)”. The video has the following description: “the best addition COD has ever made”. I have no doubt that this will become a habit during the open beta and when it is finally launched. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
What’s the moral of this post? Be careful not to have voice chat on and not to be too still during matches, because there are a lot of crazy people on the loose in Call of Duty. You might get a weird player or another who decides to make a sacrifice as a couple. In any case, always take it with humor… unless they go too far, then use the report and ban tools.
