news culture Bleach: The end of the ordeal for fans? Disney+ is finally bringing anime news
While in many countries the broadcasting of the first part of the anime Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War has just ended, French fans, among others, still have no access to these episodes. A situation that could soon change as Disney+ has just delivered a new message of hope.
Bleach hostage
Ten years after the end of the first anime, Bleach returned to the spotlight last year with the release of the anime Thousand Year Blood-War, adapting the final arc of Tite Kubo’s manga. This new anime, still maintained by the Pierrot studio, is nevertheless much more remarkable than in the past. Dantesque combat and soaring animation: the first course of this new adaptation definitely marked the year 2022.
With one thing said. This first set of episodes is available in Japan and other international countries, but not yet available in France. A real problem caused by Disney+ owning the broadcast rights to the Thousand Year Blood War arc and still not airing those episodes. The platform has repeatedly disappointed anime fans by not respecting the simulcast transmission (parallel to the Japanese transmission). Still, Bleach could be coming soon. And it’s Disney+ personally saying that.
The end of Calvary?
It is January 2023, the thirteenth and final episode of the first part of the Thousand Year Blood War arc, which aired on December 27th. Part 2 is coming next July., and yet all Bleach fans around the world haven’t had a chance to see those first thirteen episodes. In France, Disney+ has to broadcast the anime. And while the platform seems to finally be simulcasting with the release of Tokyo Revengers Season 2, we’re still left wondering where Bleach is hiding. It took a Twitter user asking for anime news again to get some.
Disney+ has finally reached out to fans by declaring that it is “working” on the arrival of Bleach. It’s always complicated to see more clearly, but the platform at least gives news while maintaining the previous status quo. More information should follow in the future, but no doubt the giant has already alienated many fans of Japanese animation. We hope for at least one arrival before the release of part 2 to discover it in simulcast this time. And we also hope that this news actually relates to the Thousand Year Blood War arc and not just the previous adjustments.
We’re working on the arrival of Bleach on Disney+, we’ll update you as soon as possible! 💙
