Blink cameras can record moving content and store it locally or in the cloud. If you don’t do this despite the appropriate settings, there is a problem. Here are a few suggested solutions.
- Blink cameras offer the ability to record events and save them to a cloud or local storage.
- However, this only happens if you have activated the appropriate settings and booked a suitable subscription plan.
- If the recording doesn’t work, there can be many reasons for this.
Blink’s surveillance cameras are primarily intended to be able to see in real time what is happening in the monitored area – for example in front of your front door or in your bedroom. But there is also the option of taking recordings when movement is detected and saving them. You can find out what you can do if this feature doesn’t work here.
That’s why the blink recording doesn’t work
The option to take recordings with your Blink camera is only available to you under two conditions: either you have taken out a suitable subscription that gives you access to up to two hours of cloud storage for your recordings, or you have a Blink Sync Module that allows you to save recordings from up to 10 cameras to a locally connected USB storage device.
If the recording does not work properly despite an existing subscription or sync module, this may be due to a faulty internet connection, among other things. It is also possible that you have set the detection sensitivity for motion detection too low, so that the movement is not detected and the recording is not triggered.
You should also make sure that three signal bars are displayed in the Blink app between the camera and the Sync Module and between the Sync Module and the network router. This is the only way to ensure a sufficient network connection between the devices.
