this Diablo 4 The early access beta has encountered technical issues, but that won’t be the case when the game launches in early June.
That’s according to Diablo general manager Ferguson, who told NME that the beta experience will “make the actual launch of the game even better”.
What many beta players don’t seem to understand is that most betas are provided for development assistance from players and are not meant to be demos. They test character builds, help fine-tune the game world, and deliberately load the servers multiple times.
That’s what Fergusson said, too, saying that for Blizzard, the beta is a way to test the studio’s technology, especially on the server side.
Due to various issues discovered during early access testing, as well as server issues, all of this will “pay off next weekend” with the release of the Diablo 4 public beta and subsequent full release.
“It can be a little frustrating as a player at times, but they have to recognize that they’re helping us make the actual launch of the game better,” Ferguson said.
The Diablo 4 Public Beta will launch on Friday, March 24 at 9am PT, 12pm ET, 4pm UK, and 5pm CST. The beta will end on Sunday, March 26 at 12:00pm PT, 3:00pm ET, 7:00pm UK, and 8:00pm CST.
The game will be released on June 6 for PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
