Diablo 4’s launch has been pretty smooth compared to most live games right now. Aside from service outages due to attacks, the servers have been stable and have seen very few disconnects/crashes.
However, the problem with Diablo 4 doesn’t seem to be the state of its technology, but more a matter of its design. More specifically, the game exhibits a lack of depth in the endgame, and many players have been voicing their concerns in various ways after completing the campaign and starting to struggle.
Everyone – from casual players looking for new content, to hardcore gamers who have put in hundreds of hours each – is looking forward to Season of the Villainous, or more precisely, the big patch that will be released before the season officially begins .
Patch 1.1.0a was indeed released less than 24 hours ago. It’s the biggest Diablo 4 game yet, with a staggering number of bug fixes, some key changes to mechanics, a general nerf to all classes, and an unusually slow grind rate.
It goes without saying that Diablo IV’s most loyal players want things to go the other way, and they’ve made it pretty clear over the past few hours. The Diablo 4 subreddit is full of overly dramatic doom and gloom, general criticism of the amount of new content, frustration at such a wide-ranging (and seemingly unnecessary) nerf, and perpetually funny memes.
Negative reactions were so prevalent that players had to specifically flag threads where they were trying to discuss some positive change, only to end up passing by as well. Honestly, it’s still a bit shocking to see such vitriol, even from voices outside the streamer bubble.
Clearly, Blizzard needs to outline the intent of many of these changes, and the developers are doing just that. Diablo’s global community director, Adam Fletcher, confirmed that the team is preparing campfire chats to address this feedback.

The campfire chat is a less formal live event that Blizzard has been hosting since the release of Diablo 4. The event will go live on Friday, with an exact date to be announced later today/tomorrow.
If you’re looking forward to the new season yourself, you still have time to complete as many items on this list as you can. However, by all means, don’t start a new season character without doing this one thing.
