We are just a few weeks away from the release of Diablo IV’s first expansion, The Ship of Hatred. On top of that, the core of the game is about to undergo a major change with the release of Patch 2.0.
There has been a lot of speculation about what changes players can expect in version 2.0. Some of that speculation includes what changes will happen to the upgrade system, but it’s a safe bet that it will have as much of an impact on the game as Season 4: The Loot Reborn.

All of this is reason enough for Blizzard to bring back the Diablo 4 Public Test Realm (PTR) so that players can test all of the big gameplay changes introduced with 2.0. And judging by what the developers are saying, the PTR is coming soon, too.
The PTR date was one of the many things to discuss in the Campfire chatroom today. Besides the date itself, we were also eager to know what changes the Blizzard team had prepared for the 2.0 patch.
Today’s chat will effectively serve as a preview of the PTR, so it will be filled with new details about what to expect. Community lead Adam Fletcher assembled a large team of Diablo IV developers for the chat, including lead live game designer Colin Finer, systems designer Aislyn Hall, game designer Charles Dunn, and specialist game designer Jeevun Sidhu.
Everyone will be on hand to update us on these changes. 11am PT, 2pm ET, 7pm BSTwhich is the normal time for Diablo IV livestreams. You can watch it on the official Twitch, YouTube, and Twitter channels. We’ve also embedded the Twitch player below:
As always, there will be a Q&A session at the end of the show, which we think will be great this time. iGamesNews will also be bringing you all the biggest news from the campfire chat after the show.
The Hatred Ship will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on October 8.
