There’s a lot going on in the world of Diablo 4 right now, although much of it seems to be happening behind the scenes rather than in the game we can play today. But that could soon change, as Blizzard is looking to rekindle our forgotten connection between game development and player feedback.
As recently revealed, Diablo 4 is getting its own Public Test Realm (PTR), with Blizzard choosing a major patch to reintroduce one of its longest-running exercises.

The PTR opening time of “Diablo 4” has not yet been determined, and the game’s loot and item system will undergo large-scale changes in Season 4. Item affixes, item stats, and power codexes are all set to receive a major overhaul, promising a major revamp of Diablo 4’s loot gameplay – arguably one of its weakest aspects.
If this all sounds interesting, you’ll be happy to know that Blizzard is keen to tell us more, starting with the next Campfire Chat livestream. The developers will host a new informal show on Wednesday, March 20 at the following locations: 11am PT, 2pm ET, 6pm UK.
This episode will focus on the loot and item changes coming to Diablo 4 Season 4, and how these changes will affect the upcoming PTR. We’d also like to hear more solid details (perhaps a date) about the PTR itself, which will be available exclusively on PC via BattleNet.
The developer also said that Campfire Chat will give us an early look at Season 4, which is even more exciting after the disappointment of the controversial Construct Season 3.
Hosting the show is Community Director Adam Fletcher, accompanied by Associate Game Designer Charles Dunn, Lead Live Course Designer Adam Jackson and Associate Game Director Joe Piepiora. You’ll be able to watch it all happen on Diablo’s Twitch and YouTube channels, and it will end with the usual Q&A.
Diablo 4 has had a series of missteps since the launch of Season 3, with massive delays in challenges and leaderboards, underwhelming limited-time events in recent years, and the emergence of overpriced in-game items in this environment. . The time span is short. Those unable to keep track of the current state of the game have turned their attention to Last Epoch, a popular indie ARPG that released version 1.0 around the same time.
It will be interesting to see if Blizzard can get players excited about the future of Diablo 4 after the live broadcast.
