Unsurprisingly, fans had some concerns Team Bloober’s coming soon silent hill 2 A remake, but the developers aim to be “closer to the original”.
Last October, Konami The long-rumored Silent Hill 2 remake has finally been announced, confirming the suspicions and leaks that Bloober would be developing it. With these rumors and leaks, the news wasn’t a surprise, but given the generally average response Bloober’s game received, fans of the series expressed concern. In a recent interview with DreadXP, Bloober’s chief marketing officer, Anna Jasińska, addressed these concerns, seemingly to reassure fans.
Talking about fans’ concerns, Jasińska said: “Yes, there is a lot of pressure because we are dealing with one of the best psychological horror games ever made. We want to stick to the original and we will keep it in the spotlight for years to come.” According to Jasiñska, longtime fans of the series needn’t worry that Bloober is “missing the point” while we breathe life into the title.
Bloober Team was apparently invited by Konami, along with other developers, to offer a concept at Tokyo Game Show 2019 on what to do with the Silent Hill 2 remake, though it’s clear who ultimately wins. Jasińska explained that Konami chose Bloober in part because it “faithfully [sticking] Tweaks to traditional story classics while remastering the gameplay and updating the graphics from the ground up. ”
In terms of more specific details, nothing in particular was discussed, although Bloober apparently took “a very safe approach to any changes.” Previous leaks have suggested that the remake may have a new ending, but there’s no way to confirm that until someone actually gets their hands on the game.
While Bloober will handle most of the development, Masahiro Ito, the creature designer on the first three Silent Hill games and art director on the second and third games, is participating in the game’s development. He joins the return of Akira Yamoaka, composer on several Silent Hill games and producer on Silent Hill 3 and 4.
