Once again, Hidetaka Miyazaki talks about Bloodborne in an interview. This time, however, it is not about a possible remake or even a new part of the series; instead, he talks about a possible PC port. In his opinion, you shouldn’t get your hopes up too much.
In 2015, From Software released a game in collaboration with Sony that many fans (including the author of these lines) consider to be their absolute magnum opus. Bloodborne impresses with its fresh setting, an ingenious combat system and creative weapons and enemies. But apart from the DLC The Old Hunters, the brand has been dormant since its debut – and many people wonder why.

According to Hidetaka Miyazaki, studio head of From Software, the blame for this lies with Sony. At least that is what an interview with PC Gamer magazine suggests. In the interview, the interviewer asked Miyazaki directly whether he personally wanted a PC port of Bloodborne. His answer is very revealing.
After a loud laugh, the From Software boss referred to studio producer Yasuhiro Kitao and interpreter Bobby Simpson and said that they would definitely like a port. However, he himself could not say anything more specific: “When I say that I want a [PC-Port] I’ll get into trouble too. But I wouldn’t be against it.”
These are fairly clear words that make Sony look like a scapegoat. He continues: “Of course, my personal, pure opinion is that as one of the creators of Bloodborne, I would love for more players to be able to enjoy it.” According to Miyazaki, ports and remakes are particularly important for old games that languish on their respective release consoles so that they don’t fall into oblivion.
So the question arises as to why Sony is so reluctant to do anything with the Bloodborne brand. Although the PS4-exclusive title can also be played on the PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility, the question is how many more generations this will continue to be the case. Especially since Bloodborne has sold significantly better over the years than Demon’s Souls, which was famously given a remake in 2020. Sony has also been porting a ton of titles to the PC recently.
What the upcoming Bloodborne is about is explained to you in this new story trailer.
