The effects of the writers’ strike are still being felt. This time it’s a Marvel production.
The writers’ strike in Hollywood began a week ago. WGA union demands, including an increase in the minimum wage, went unheeded. It is therefore the production of many series and TV shows, but also of films, that is very badly disrupted. Yesterday, a Marvel production took its turn to bear the brunt of this strike.
A Marvel series indirectly affected by the writers’ strike
In the past week, the bad news about the TV series and films to be expected in the coming months/years has piled up. The strike, started by the Writers Guild of America on May 2nd, has already halted production on many projects. And that’s just the beginning, because it’s indefinitely. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been concerned since production blade
But this time it’s the turn of a long-awaited series to fall behind in Hollywood due to the writers’ strike. It is Daredevil: Reborn, which airs on Disney+. This Monday, May 8th, his filming was actually interrupted by a demonstration at Silvercup East Studios in New York and filming is therefore suspended until further notice. By the way, even if production does eventually resume, the time of the strike, screenwriters Matt Corman and Chris Ord can no longer be on set. So it could be a while yet, but Marvel doesn’t appear to have changed the dates of its calendar at the time of this writing.
Other productions affected by the strike
Apparently, Daredevil: Reborn is far from the only production being delayed. The strike, initiated by the WGA, will embarrass the entire industry and could prove very costly. On the Marvel side, we have already mentioned the case blade
Other studios choose to continue production of their series at all costs. This is especially true for Amazon with The Rings of Power, filming of which continues without the showrunners being on set. Let’s hope the result is still true after the flop Season 1 gave on Prime Video.
