“The Book of Boba Fett” is about the popular bounty hunter. Will his personal vendetta against Mace Windu (Samuel L. Jackson) be dealt with on the Disney + series?
- Little is known about “The Book of Boba Fett”. Will Samuel L. Jackson play as Mace Windu?
- Rumors of the popular Jedi Master’s return have been circulating for a long time.
- With “Boba Fett” showrunner Robert Rodriguez being friends with Quentin Tarantino, fans are hoping Tarantino will stage Jackson’s return.
“The Book of Boba Fett” will start streaming on Disney + in December 2021. So shortly before the start and as before, little is known about the new series from the “Star Wars” universe. Series creators Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and Robert Rodriguez did a great job keeping fans out from spoilers.

But the series, which is a spin-off to “The Mandalorian”, will surely have some returnees from other films and series and the rumors have grown up around almost every character from Emilia Clarke’s Qi’ra to Samuel L. Jackson as Mace Windu. And even if it seems like pure fan fiction, there could be some truth in Jackson’s appearance.
Star Wars: Boba Fett and Mace Windu still have a bill!
Before we list more valid reasons for Samuel L. Jackson to appear as Mace Windu, let’s explain why it would make sense, from a plot point of view, to have the Jedi Master appear!
In Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, Mace Windu kills Boba’s father Jango Fett (also played by Temeura Morrison). Then we see in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” how Boba is out for revenge and tries repeatedly to kill the Jedi master with the purple lightsaber.
The bounty hunter does not succeed in this, however, and in “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith” Windu supposedly dies through Anakin and Palpatine. Thus, Boba’s personal vendetta remains an unsolved mission.
Star Wars: Mace Windu is dead, long live Mace Windu!
Even if the revenge on Mace Windu should be ticked off for Boba, since he is dead, the personal character development remains for Boba. How does he deal with it, how did he deal with it in the years between Windu’s death and “The Book of Boba Fett”?
Flashbacks or dreams that could show how Boba is dealing with the trauma would make sense. But the rumors that Windu survived the fall from the window persist.
As early as the second season of “The Mandalorian” rumors circulated that Mace Windu would appear in the finale. In the end, however, it was Luke Skywalker. Now the rumors come up again, because the official “Star Wars” account on Instagram revealed: “The party is not over yet!”
Star Wars: Mace Windu isn’t done with its story yet!
When the official “Star Wars” account congratulated Samuel L. Jackson on his birthday on Instagram in December 2020, the caption clearly wrote: “The party is not over yet, this was just the beginning”. Will this promise now come true?
Admittedly, there is no reason why Mace Windu should appear in “The Book of Boba Fett”. We only know that a possible return in any of the new “Star Wars” series is up for debate. And even that is not certain, although Jackson has repeatedly expressed an interest in returning.
Coupled with the desire to see Samuel L. Jackson again, fans spin the idea even further and hope that his return will be staged by Quentin Tarantino. Jackson and Tarantino are known to be good friends and “The Book of Boba Fett” showrunner Robert Rodriguez is considered Tarantino’s best friend in the business. An absurd fan dream with a lot of potential, should it come to that!
We’ll find out whether Sam Jackson will appear in “The Book of Boba Fett” on December 29, 2021 in the Disney + novelty program. Of course, fans hope to see you again.
