Gearbox has unveiled the next DLC for Borderlands 3 – and it again has a long, bulky title: After robbing a casino in Moxxi’s robbery of the Handsome Jackpot and humming, love and tentacles saving a wedding from a cosmic Lovecraft threat, We are now in Bounty of Blood – A Fistful of Redemption (German: Blood Money – A Handful of Redemption) in the Wild West.
Borderlands meets Red Dead Redemption
In the latest episode of Borderlands show the upcoming DLC was unveiled and the first information was revealed: As the title of the Western expansion suggests, Borderlands 3 wants to take on Red Dead Redemption 2 this time.
In the course of the action we travel the rough desert planet Gehennato hunt down a brutal bandit gang: But instead of O’Driscolls or the Van der Linde gang, we meet the so-called devil riders who terrorize the small town of Vestige.
The plot is reminiscent of the spaghetti western For a few dollars with Clint Eastwood, because together with the townspeople, we have to face the Outlaws to bring justice back to the Wild West. According to Gearbox, we’re supposed to come across a Borderlands-style wacky cast full of new characters – like rose, an ally who goes into battle with katana and shotgun at the same time.

In addition to the story, there is also again in the expansion new gameplay mechanics: Instead of riding horses, we ride “jet beasts” through the desert that are “half jet bike, half beast” – as creative director Matt Cox explains in the video. In addition, there are supposed to be tons of new loot again, including, of course, many weapons in Western design.
