The Walking Dead was literally what you might call a big part of television, but guess what, it’s not really over yet. Because yes, there are spin-offs and sometimes they are anxious to survive as long as possible.
Very lively undead
The Walking Dead began in 2010 and finally ended its long bloody series in 2022 with no less than eleven seasons. A hell of a marathon for many viewers, but also the end of a whole era for the most loyal ones: Twelve years of its existence, it’s still not nothing and The adventures of Rick (and well beyond) shape the daily lives of millions for a breathtaking amount of time.
And again not counting the various offshoots of the franchise, all of which lead to other television series that in turn want to last as long as they need to. Such as Dead City, just to name them.
Up to five seasons?
The crowd says: The Walking Dead: Dead City is obviously made to last for quite a while. Lauren Cohen, the interpreter of Maggie in “The Walking Dead”, is precisely the new protagonist of this spin-off, alongside a certain Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). And during an interview with the New York Post, She revealed the number of seasons the production envisioned before even filming the first season.
We’re definitely ready to move beyond season one. The television landscape is a bit different and a bit more hectic than before, but we really hope the show goes the way it should, that it can lead to a second, third, fourth or fifth season. We feel like we’ve just cracked open the egg: now we should make an omelet out of it.
