Helldivers around the world must adapt to new conditions on the Automaton front: The Tin Cans now have Super-Earth’s jetpack technology!
The Galactic War in Helldivers 2 is taking a new turn: As announced in an in-game emergency warning on the bridge of all ships, a new and improved variant of the Automaton force is on the rise!
It was spotted new threat under the name “Jet Brigade” for the first time on the planet Matar Bay. Apparently the bots now seem to have gotten wind of the construction of the DSS space station and are specifically attacking this sector.
The defense of Matar Bay has been issued as a marching order for all players, with players mobilizing a defense against the new Automaton attack on Reddit, YouTube and other social media.
What kind of new opponents are these?
The Jet Brigade are a kind of sub-faction of the Automatons and consist of troopers who a new jetpack variant carry. This is what it looks like:

As you quickly notice: the Jet Brigade bots can close the gap on unsuspecting Helldivers and deal a lot of damage!
There are three variants:
- Standard Assault Trooper (laser rifle)
- Commissar (pistol and sword)
- MG Raider (rapid fire)
The three archetypes overcome large distances (and heights) in a very short time and then switch to close combat and also bring with them slightly increased life points.
The big weak point
The Automatons’ jetpacks are extremely vulnerable to damage, and a single hit with almost any weapon in the game will instantly detonate them if you aim closely.
But be careful: If you stand too close to an opponent of the Jet Brigade, the explosion may take you away!

Helldivers fans are immediately working on new tactics to better defeat the new Automatons together and are sharing their ideas online!
