“Bridgerton” seasons 3 and 4 cannot be filmed as planned. A location is not available. You can read what that means for the series here.
- The hit Netflix series “Bridgerton” has problems preparing for filming for seasons 3 and 4.
- The series makers received a rejection for a planned location near the well-known English city of Ascot.
- The reason for the cancellation were protests by the local residents against the construction project of the producers on Berkshire’s Sunninghill Park Estate.
Even behind the scenes of the popular Netflix-Serie “Bridgerton“It’s going to be dramatic at the moment. The series makers have to redesign their production plans for seasons 3 and 4 now that a planned location is not available.
Originally to be shot on Berkshire’s Sunninghill Park Estate near Ascot, reports the British tabloid The Sun. The country estate is the former residence of the British Prince Andrew and his then wife Sarah Ferguson.
But residents had protested against it. Production company Shondaland had hoped to build two fictional mansions from the series on the site, Bridgerton House and Featherington House. In addition, a shopping arcade, a tea house and a side street were to be built there.
The set should extend over five acres and remain there for five years of filming. Now seasons 3 and 4 have to be shot elsewhere.
A source told The Sun, “This is a headache for producers because it is not always easy to find the perfect location to shoot, and they had extensive plans for the site to be developed.”
“Fortunately, now that the second season is in full swing, that would have been a filming location for the third and fourth seasons, so you still have some breathing space. But it’s a cancellation you could have done without.”
