Bridgerton: First Simon, now Daphne – Phoebe Dynevor leaves the Netflix series!

As in the “Bridgerton” novels, the Netflix series always focuses on a different member of the Bridgerton family. In Season 1, Daphne Bridgerton met and fell in love with Simon Basset, in Season 2, Anthony Bridgerton met Kate Sharma, and in Season 3, we witness the complicated relationship between Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton.

Of course, the other Bridgerton siblings are never far away, but in season 3 we have to do without Daphne. In an interview with Screenrant Phoebe Dynevor revealed that she fulfilled her contractual obligations after Season 2 and therefore will not be starring in Season 3.

Dynevor adds that she could potentially return in later seasons, but right now it sounds like she might want to move on to other projects. Dynevor’s latest film, the erotic thriller Fair Play, was just bought by Netflix at the Sundance Film Festival and is set to hit the streaming service later this year.

The disappearance of Daphne in season 3 of “Bridgerton” can easily be explained by a move, after all Regé-Jean Page, who played Daphne’s great love Simon, left the series after just one season and is also no longer seen in the series .

It is not yet known when “Bridgerton” season 3 will start on Netflix, but before that we can definitely expect a spin-off that is about Queen Charlotte’s young years.
