In seasons 1 and 2 of the Netflix series “Bridgerton”, Lady Whistledown aka Penelope Featherington has already revealed numerous secrets. In addition to small misconduct, she also brought big scandals to light.

Nigel Berbrooke’s illegitimate child

In Season 1, Nigel Berbrooke courts Daphne, much to the dismay of the eldest Bridgerton daughter. To make matters worse, Anthony insists that Daphne marry Nigel.

Because of this, Daphne agrees to the deal with Simon. She wants to get rid of Nigel and attract more suitable candidates. But he doesn’t give up. Only when Lady Whistledown reveals that Nigel had an affair with a maid and has an illegitimate child does he retire.

Marina’s pregnancy

Also in Season 1, Marina Thompson is sent to the Featheringtons. Lady Featherington is not happy about this, as Marina has a large number of suitors and this reduces her daughters’ chances of getting a husband.

When it comes out that Marina is pregnant, she wants to find her a husband quickly to prevent a scandal. Colin Bridgerton is also one of Marina’s admirers and the two become engaged.

Since Penelope is in love with Colin, she wants to prevent the wedding. As Lady Whitlsedown, she reveals Marina’s pregnancy, which is why her engagement to Colin falls through. Ultimately, Marina marries Philip Crane, the brother of the man who got her pregnant. This one had fallen in the war.

Eloise’s friendship with Theo

She also wants to get Penelope excited, but she worries about the reputation of Eloise and her family and her secret. Un fortunately, Queen Charlotte mistakes Eloise for the real Lady Whistledown and threatens her with dire consequences.

To protect her friend (and herself), Penelope destroys Eloise’s reputation by exposing her fling with Theo Sharpe to the world. Although Eliose had claimed that she and Theo were just friends, it was clear that the two felt more for each other.
