It’s a family affair again: Konrad and Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz are reunited. They used to work together at CD Projekt Red, but now the latter has joined his brother at his own studio, Rebel Wolves.
Both previously worked at CD Projekt Red on hits like The Witc her 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. Mateusz takes on the role of creative director at the young studio. The team announced the personnel in a press release. His brother Konrad has been CEO and game director there for a good two years.
Rebel Wolves According to his own statement, he is currently working on one of his own AAA dark fantasy RPG IP.
New th ings in old areas
Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz announced in the course of the PR letter: Throughout my years in game development, story-driven role-playing adventures have always been close to my heart.
And since his brother is not the only old acquaintance from his time at CD Projekt Red and the new project also feels familiar at its core, he continues as follows:
For me, there is nothing better than the opportunity to fully immerse yourself and discover handcrafted stories and worlds. I’m very happy with Rebel [Wolves] seeing many of my old friends again and meeting many new ones. Our shared goal is to deliver the roleplaying game that we ourselves would love to play.
Why does everyone go to Rebel Wolves? The reasons are likely to be varied. But in many cases, proximity in terms of content and geography is likely to be of central importance. On the one hand, Rebel Wolves focuses on similar games to CD Projekt Red and on the other hand, the young studio is based in Warsaw, relatively close to what is probably the most famous Eastern European video game developer.
The Cyberpunk 2077 makers have also recently had a few departures. According to those responsible, these largely follow internal restructuring.

The 47 most important games in 2024
What’s in development at Rebel Wolves?
We don’t know too much about role-playing yet. Technically, however, like many games scheduled to be released in the coming years, it will be based on the Unreal Engine 5
A good two years ago we presented you with the first information about founding a studio in the form of this article. Here we summarize the most important things again:
- Target platforms are the PC and next-gen consoles.
- They are planning a whole saga, not just a standalone title.
- You want to intertwine fights and dialogues smoothly.
- The new project is intended to be “as nonlinear as possible,” but big decisions à la The Witcher are firmly planned.
Is it actually relevant to you who helps develop a game? Do you read credits, remember names of senior staff, and follow their careers? Or are these just isolated cases that become famous and are generally known in the scene? Please let us know your thoughts on this in the comments below the article!
