What is behind the savegame bug?
As the developer CD Projekt Red explained on his support page, there is currently one maximum game size. Players already investigated the problem on the official forum and found that this is exactly 8,192 kB, i.e. about 8 MB. If you exceed it, it will destroy your savegame.
This is how you prevent: As the studio explains, you can prevent this error by not piling up too many items and crafting materials in your inventory and warehouse. In addition, you should refrain from using the glitch with which you can duplicate items.
Frequently saves: It makes sense to create many different game states. If you should exceed the 8 MB mentioned, you can at least fall back on an older savegame. This is of course not a perfect solution. However, in an emergency, you can at least keep your lost progress within limits.
If your Cyberpunk 2077 because of the strong problems want to return, then you will learn in our article what exactly you can do.

Will the problem be fixed?
From the official side it is currently said that you can possibly increase the maximum file size in the future becomes. However, even if that happens, it will not restore your saves. Once these are broken, you can no longer save them.
When are the patches coming?
The developer is already working on the bugs from Cyberpunk 2077 and regularly releases new patches. The update to version 1.05 was released on December 19, 2020. This mainly fixes various quest bugs and also eliminates the causes of crashes.
