A new sale is about to start on PlayStation Direct. But this time you can’t buy a PS5. Instead, you can secure the PSVR2 VR headset for the first time.

Shortly before Christmas and Black Friday, the sales phase for the PS5 is in the hot phase. We also see this in the game releases. After Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, God of War Ragnarök was recently released. Of course, new games also mean new console bundles. 10:30 am: With the PSVR2, Sony is launching the successor to the well-known VR glasses PlayStation VR. The company has revealed some information about the successor model so far and according to a Twitter bot, you should be able to pre-order it for the first time from 11:00 am today.

Unsurprisingly, this first advance sale of the PSVR2 should take place via Sony’s own online shop PlayStation Direct. Apparently (at least that’s what the Twitter bot says) it’s just an exclusive sale that you can only participate in with an invitation from Sony. You could pre-register for this invitation on the PlayStation Direct website.

It remains to be seen whether you will still get the chance to buy a PlayStation VR2 without an invitation after the exclusive sale. If you want one, you should definitely keep an eye on the shop from 11:00 and update regularly. Plus, you can still sign up for PlayStation Direct; to receive an invite for the next PSVR2 sale. 09:27 am: It’s also worth taking a look at Kaufland’s online marketplace if you really want to get hold of a PS5 without stressful queues. Both individual consoles and bundles are offered there by external sellers. The catch: Many offers are sold at a very high price.

So before you buy it, you should definitely check the price. We would advise against consoles that are offered for more than 700 dollars and bundles that go into the four-digit price range, unless you want to have a console at any price.

Sometimes between all the expensive deals there is also one or the other fair or even really cheap offer. It is therefore worth taking a look at the sales platform at least once or twice a day.

08:40 am: After yesterday’s sale on PlayStation Direct and Medimax, today it’s mainly the big retailers that you should keep an eye on. These include Otto, Media Markt, Saturn and also Amazon, although the latter retailer tends to offer new offers on Wednesdays.

Otto is interesting because the drops there usually take place on a Tuesday or Thursday. In addition, the online shop sells new consoles and bundles almost every week. However, since these are usually small contingents and these are quickly sold out, you should not hesitate too long with new offers.

Media Markt and Saturn are also interesting. Both dealers have had a mobile phone tariff offer for some time, where you can get the console for a monthly payment, but there hasn’t been a “normal” sale for several weeks. A suspiciously long time for such a large electronics retailer, which is why we expect a drop in the near future.

There could also be a surprising drop at Amazon. A regular look doesn’t hurt either. The question remains which retailers will save new PS5 offers for the upcoming Black Friday and for the Black Week taking place next week.

However, since the dealers are also aware of the importance of this sales event and it is foreseeable that many dealers will be able to offer new consoles at this time, some shops will certainly use their opportunity to put new offers online before everyone else.
