According to reports, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be released this year, although the official announcement is still pending. In the coming year, however, it is Treyarch’s turn with a fresh Call of Duty – and an actor seems to have been found for the main character.
While we are still waiting for the official announcement and presentation of this year’s Call of Duty, which will most likely be Modern Warfare 3, more rumors are already making the rounds about the shooter in the coming year 2024. Then it’s Treyarch’s turn again and will probably continue the Black Ops sub-series.
In the new sequel, a protagonist named Ratcliffe will play an important role – and it seems that the right actor has now been found for him. Actor Luke Charles Stafford has now spoken out via Facebook and presented some photos and even a short video.
Stafford is apparently in a motion capture studio in the pictures, where recordings for the upcoming Call of Duty 2024 are being made. In the video, he says: “Activision has decided to adapt the next main character in Call of Duty called ‘Ratcliffe’ based on my looks – and I’m thrilled.” He then turns to his former college colleagues and emphasizes that he will play as himself in future joint CoD battles.
The video also shows some other people from the Call of Duty team on site, some of whom also wear shirts from the current Modern Warfare 2. Nevertheless, the chance should be high that photos and videos will be completely banned from the Internet at short notice, because such information is usually subject to an NDA, so it may not be shared with the public. It is quite possible that Stafford will still have some problems because of this.
Codenamed Cerberus internally, Treyarch’s next Call of Duty will be released in 2024 and will be a new Black Ops. The protagonist Ratcliffe could possibly be modeled after the real British Army soldier Peter Ratcliffe. He had served in the Special Air Service Parachute Regiment for over 30 years and was decorated for service in the Gulf War.
