With the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Activision also wants to start a new era when it comes to fighting cheaters. Thanks to the use of AI, these should be banished from the game faster than ever before.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be officially available at the end of the week and will then have to deal with a sad topic: cheaters. Cheating players have always been a problem in competitive online titles and developers are literally fighting an eternal battle to eliminate them as much as possible in order to ensure a fair and good gaming atmosphere. However, this is often difficult to achieve, also because the cheaters and the providers of corresponding programs always seem to be one step ahead. AI should now become the big game changer.
In one detailed article on the official website Activision has now commented on the fight against cheaters in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. There they have the ambitious goal of “discovering and removing cheaters in the shooter within an hour of loading their first match.” Unfair players will be targeted more quickly than ever before.
In order to achieve this project, which is summarized under the term “Time to Action”, AI should help significantly. Cheaters can “run and hide,” but artificial intelligence will track them down, Activision said. Because in the future, AI will be able to evaluate how players play much better and more reliably. As a result, better and better behavior patterns are developed and by collecting data from cheaters, corresponding profiles can be further sharpened.
But that’s not the end of the anti-cheat efforts, Activision said: “It’s still a work in progress that we can do with AI beyond behavioral models. As this work progresses, we’ll share more on this as we can .”
