Call of Duty fans should actually be happy about Black Ops 6. But unpleasant circumstances are currently causing the shooter to receive tons of negative reviews on the Steam sales platform.
The ratings for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on Steam are currently not good. At the time of writing, the title only had 64 percent positive reviews. I probably don’t have to explain to you that something is seriously wrong.
The difference to the press reviews is interesting and things look much better on Metacritic, although not perfect. Our test for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 at least sees the campaign in a very positive light; for me it is one of the best in the entire series.

So what is causing problems on Steam? Many players complain about poor technology. This doesn’t mean that Black Ops 6 doesn’t run smoothly or simply looks bad, but fans are complaining about crashes and bugs.
This leads to a lot of frustration and also creative solutions. It is often advised to uninstall the entire game and download it again. If that doesn’t help, local folders are manually removed or autostart apps and anti-cheat programs from other titles are uninstalled.
The problems do not occur evenly. For example, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 only crashes for some fans when they try to start the campaign. The multiplayer, however, works perfectly. Still others don’t see options like HDR, DLSS or brightness calibration.
Things seem to run much more smoothly on the consoles, which also agrees with my impressions. So if you have the chance, grab the version on Xbox Series X/S or PlayStation 5.
