Starting today, players on Xbox One and PC can also try the Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War beta. PS4 gamers can also participate again.

After PlayStation 4 players were able to experience the beta of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War last weekend, now it’s the turn of the Xbox One and the PC. We’ll briefly give you the most important information such as participation, duration of the beta and the playable content.

How can I participate in the beta?

If you have pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War digitally for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S or the PC via Battle.net (for the system requirements for the PC), you can get started this Thursday from 7 p.m.

You need Xbox Live Gold or a Battle.net account to do this. You can play the beta from Saturday, October 17th from 7pm onwards without pre-ordering.

On the PlayStation 4, however, the beta is open to everyone from Thursday to Monday.

How long is the beta running?

The beta begins today, Thursday, October 15 at 7:00 p.m. and ends on Monday, October 19, at 7:00 p.m.

Does the beta support cross play?

Yes, the cross-play function is active in the beta. So you can team up with other people or compete against them regardless of the platform.

What can I play in the beta?

The classics Team Deathmatch, Dominion and Kill confirmed are included. The new modes VIP Escort and Linked Arms are also playable. VIP escort is a 6v6 mode. In it you have to alternately bring a player from your team to the pick-up point or prevent the opponent from flying his VIP.

Connected weapons are 12v12 battles on large maps that also use vehicles such as tanks and helicopters. You argue about occupying and maintaining established zones.

Which cards are included?

The following six maps will be playable in beta:

  • Armada: fleet of ships in the North Atlantic
  • Cartel: Kartelleinrichtung in Nicaragua
  • Crossroads: Snow area in Uzbekistan
  • Miami: streets of South Beach
  • Moscow: capital of the USSR
  • Satellite: Desert of Angola

Will my progress be carried over to the full version?

No, the progress made in the beta will not carry over to the full version.

As part of the beta, you of course also have access to various weapons, attachments, perks and series of points for your character. As you climb up levels, you unlock additional extras. If you reach level 10, you will receive a blueprint for a submachine gun in the final game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be released on November 13 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC. The PS5 version will follow on November 19th.
