The new Call of Duty planned for this year is known to be called Black Ops Gulf War – and now, according to an insider, the first major appearance of the shooter is set to take place in the summer.
Over the weekend there was some speculation about the big Xbox Showcase, which has already been confirmed for June, and where State of Decay 3, for example, will make an appearance. In addition, the long-awaited new Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War will also be shown in detail there. This is confirmed by Tom Warren from The Verge now one of the most renowned and well-informed insiders in the video game industry.
Tom Warren jumped off with Tom Henderson in the episode Insider Gaming another well-known and reliable leaker like Insider was on hand, who was able to independently verify the relevant information. However: The new Call of Duty will not make its very first appearance at the Xbox Showcase. Rather, Activision Blizzard wants to show the new shooter beforehand in a “traditional way” for the franchise – including outside of Warzone. Since 2020, new Call of Duty titles have been announced during live events in the free-to-play battle royale title; They seem to be saying goodbye to that this year.
Black Ops Gulf War is likely to make its first appearance before the Summer Games Fest in June. The first deep dive should then focus on one aspect of the title, presumably the campaign. Multiplayer is likely to be the focus in August, followed by Zombies mode. The shooter is expected to be released in October 2024.
Previous leaks surrounding the title said that there would be an open-world campaign developed by Raven Software. Treyarch Games focuses on the multiplayer and zombies components.
Separate from the new part, rumors surrounding Call of Duty also said that earlier titles in the franchise are now being prepared for launch on Xbox Game Pass. There will also be corresponding announcements at the Xbox Showcase in June this year.
