The film version of Call of Duty found a screenwriter. And a good one. However, there is also less good news about the project.

Activision's call-of-duty film is far from dry, but the number of people working on the project is growing. A director has already been found, and a screenwriter has now been appointed who has only made a name for himself with a recently very successful film – "Joker". Scott Silver worked on the villain adaptation, but had previously worked on films such as "8 Mile".
Together with director Stefano Sollima ("Sicario 2") he will work on the shooter adaptation as soon as it finally gets going. Because fans have been waiting for the project to take shape for years. Interview with Badtaste Sollima revealed that the film is currently not a high priority for Activision. This does not mean the end of the work, at the moment it is just on ice.

Meanwhile, nothing is known about the cast. Which caliber director Sollima is aiming for can still be seen from his preferred candidate. Chris Pine and Tom Hardy would be his first choice. Little is happening, but at least the work is not completely at a standstill. So you shouldn't expect a trailer or the finished film anytime soon.
