Last night, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta also launched on PC. The return to the popular Steam platform is now perfect – and it went really well.
With the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Activision Blizzard is known to be returning to the popular Steam platform on the PC after the last series offshoots were not available there. This comeback already seems to be paying off in the current beta.
Although so far only pre-orderers or other purchasers of a beta code can actually participate, the PC beta on Steam is already enjoying great popularity. Five years after the last Steam appearance of a Call of Duty, almost 110,000 players romped around in the not yet freely accessible beta in the shooter via Steam alone. The beta slipped straight into the top 5 most-played titles on Steam.
A majority of the participants will have already purchased the game via Steam in advance of the beta access; After all, the number of pre-orders has been very good lately. Nevertheless, it shouldn’t be about all PC players of the shooter, because many will still be there via Battle.net.
For Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the great interest basically only bodes well. The start of sales on October 28, 2022 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S already promises to be a success.
