Sarah Schachner, perhaps one of the most well-known video game soundtrack composers, is fed up. In a Twitter statement, she mainly settles accounts with the audio director of Call of Duty.
Sarah Schachner is fed up with Call of Duty. At least that’s what emerges from a Twitter statement in which she confirms that she will no longer produce music for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 or Warzone. The reason for this are obviously violent differences with the audio director of the series, among other things apparently because of the release of the soundtrack.
In her statement it says: “Unfortunately I have to say that I can no longer compose music for MWII / Warzone. In the last few months the working dynamic with the audio director has become increasingly difficult and I see no way out. As of now I am aware of the status and the release schedule of the Soundtracks no longer secure as it was taken out of my hands While I have no control over how the music is presented in the game, what is released on the soundtrack is not my artistic intent in terms of mixing and mastering. “
So it seems like CoD fans will have to do without Sarah Schachner’s music in the future. By the way, the composer is no stranger and has been on board for Call of Duty for a long time. But she was not only involved in CoD (namely in Infinite Warfare, Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2), her works are also in games like Assassin’s Creed (Unity, Black Flag, Origins & Valhalla), Far Cry, Need for Speed and Anthem listen. Film soundtracks are also part of their repertoire, as was the case recently with the Predator reboot Prey.
