Rarely does a game run smoothly at launch, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is no exception. However, one of the problems was with the driver for NVIDIA graphics cards, but it has now been fixed.
Update:
Following the hotfix intended to address some stability issues in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the official NVIDIA Game Ready driver, version number 526.86, is now available and can be downloaded from the GeForce Experience or the NVIDIA website. The driver optimizes performance, improves stability, includes a fix for corruption issues, and supports both NVIDIA DLSS and NVIDIA Reflex.

Already at the launch, the developers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 noticed that the latest NVIDIA driver doesn’t really run smoothly with the game. As co-developer Beenox confirmed: “We have encountered some stability issues with the latest NVIDIA 526.47 drivers for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. For now, we recommend using the 516.59 or 522.25 drivers.”
Meanwhile, NVIDIA also confirmed the problem with the Game Ready driver, but has since taken care of it. The new driver version 526.61 is now available, which should now finally fix the problems with Modern Warfare 2. The new driver also eliminates two other bugs related to VTube Studio and the closing of some games.
As this is a hotfix, the driver cannot currently be downloaded via the GeForce Experience, but must be downloaded from the NVIDIA support page be pulled and installed manually.
