Hardly a year goes by without concrete information about the next Call of Duty being leaked in advance of an official announcement. The new Modern Warfare II is no exception.
As of yesterday we know that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will be available on October 28, 2022. The corresponding trailer also contained a specific reference to June 8th, when the official presentation of the game can be expected. However, there is now concrete information in advance – thanks to a larger leak.
Dataminers have dug into the depths of the Call of Duty: Vanguard files after it received the Season 3: Reloaded update. Accordingly, there is – unsurprisingly – a beta test phase of Modern Warfare II before the release. Interesting: This year (probably for the last time) PS4 and PS5 players are apparently allowed to start the beta first again. Also due to the Activision purchase by Microsoft, the exclusivity agreement with Sony is unlikely to be continued; the signs of this had recently become more concentrated.
Furthermore, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will be available in three different editions. In addition to the Standard Edition and a cross-gen bundle, which includes the actual game, early access to the beta and various items, there will also be the Vault Edition. This also includes the Battle Pass Season 1 with 50 Tier Skips, the Red Team Operator Pack with additional Operators, 10 hours of Double XP, Dual Weapon XP, FJX Cinder Weapon Vault and the Ghost Legac Pack with 12 Operator Skins and 10 Weapon Blueprints.
The cross-gen bundle mentioned also confirmed another fact: the new Call of Duty will not only appear for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, but also for PS4 and Xbox One. An official confirmation of the leak is still pending.
Incidentally, this also applies to another leak that comes from the renowned Tom Henderson. As is well known, with the release of the new shooter part, the Battle Royale offshoot Call of Duty: Warzone should also receive a fundamental overhaul. In the course of this, according to Henderson, a new map will also be introduced – and of this he has now published an overview.
Henderson also mentions a new swimming mechanic in the mode – fitting for the map, which has plenty of water to offer. Such a feature previously existed in the CoD title Blackout.
