Activision has finally made it official: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare gets the Battle Royale mode Warzone. Starting tomorrow, March 10th, the new mode will start on PC and consoles and will be playable there for free. Up to 150 players can explore the city of Verdansk and choose from two modes. You collect loot, eliminate opponents and can search the large map for missions, after which you can gain an advantage with extra weapons, money or XP. For example, it is important to eliminate a certain opponent or to take over a certain point on the map.
To do this, you team up in squads of three players and, if possible, have to hold out together until the end. In order to achieve this, comrades who have fallen through revival tokens can be brought back to life. You can find these at sales stands that are spread across the map and are happy to help you with the money earned from the orders. Alternatively, fallen players can proactively bring themselves back into the game. In the so-called Gulag, you are challenged in 1-on-1 firefights to earn your way back.
The combat mode "Plunder" is completely new, in which the freedoms of Battle-Royale encounter fast call-of-duty action. In teams, it's your job to bag as much in-match money as possible as quickly as possible, whether through supply boxes, taking out opponents, completing missions, or defending special locations. You will be resuscitated an unlimited number of times to keep your accumulated assets to the end.
Warzone supports crossplay between consoles and PC and a combined game progress with Modern Warfare. This means that players who already own the main game can take their weapons, operators and Battle Pass items with them. The reverse also applies to your progress in Warzone.
