After Call of Duty: Modern Warfare last year, Activision remains true to itself in 2020 and has now confirmed that there will be a new Call of Duty again this time. However, one crucial question is still open: Who is this part of this year coming from?

This may not be a real surprise for fans of Call of Duty or shooters, but the official confirmation is nevertheless worth mentioning: As part of the announcement and discussion of current business figures, Activision has now formally announced that it will again have a new Call of in 2020 Duty will give. The direction of the past few years, which provided for an annual release within the franchise, is thus maintained.
At this early point in the year, the name of the game was not usually announced, and it is the case this time. Activision was also silent on the first details. What is somewhat surprising, however, is the fact that there was no comment on the developer studio responsible.
In the past, the publisher was usually quite open when it came to which studio was working on the new Call of Duty – but not this year. This is particularly interesting because, according to a report earlier this year, Treyarch is rumored to have taken over the work on the 2020 offshoot after Sledgehammer and Raven Software, which would have been responsible according to the usual rhythm, were unable to implement their plans in a timely manner ,
That same report further aimed to ensure that the assets of Sledgehammer and Raven Software only flow into a single player mode, whereby they now help the main developer, Treyarch, who is now responsible. So far, however, this has really only been unconfirmed speculation, which should be treated with a certain degree of caution. Against this background, it is quite interesting that Activision did not comment on the developer.
Experience has shown that the new Call of Duty will be officially launched in May; then at the latest we should know more.
