Warzone 2.0 is out now, which means we can finally put to use all the guns we’ve been upgrading, experience all the new content that’s been added, and fight to win that day. To achieve all this, you need to know the first day of the Warzone 2.0 release, and who better to guide you through it than Call of Duty Pro?
So, to give us a look at the best Warzone releases, we sat down with Redbull Jukeyz from the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London. During our chat, we discussed the guns they’ll be using, their gear, and what they think the version of Al Mazrah will look like in the first few weeks.
First, Al Mazrah is much friendlier for those who like to sprint up close and engage in high-intensity combat than Caldera with its open jungle and ranged combat. As such, Jakeyz is in his comfort zone with a medium-range assault rifle and close-range SMG gear. Especially mid-range M4 with AK74U. With this, he’ll charge up close to fight instead of picking off players from afar.
“The maps are so big, you can’t shoot them in AR like you can in Caldera,” Jukeyz explained. While it used to be generally better to pick people up from greater distances, Al Malzrah did facilitate the gun smuggling game in urban areas and in a large number of buildings around certain POIs. “That’s what I like about it, though. When I notice someone, I know my job is to fly towards them. If they hit a building, I need to hit that building and get closer. “
As for gear, a surprising addition for some might be the use of shards. It looks like they’re pretty strong in Warzone 2.0 now, like they were back in Blackout and at some point in Warzone 1’s life. As for tactics, Stim is of course king, but Jukeyz pointed out that they used stun grenades to great effect in the past, so maybe with the increased amount of close quarter combat in Warzone 2.0, they’ll get a lot of use.
But while this works for Jukeyz, who are trying to replicate something close to the M4/MP5 mounts they used in previous games, they haven’t heard of any golden guns being able to outperform other guns. Surprisingly, everything seems to be fairly balanced now: “As far as I know, no super broken loads. That’s fine, you’d expect those US content creators to tweet about ridiculous meta loads, but they also No”
So now, the guns that did well in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer might do well in Warzone 2.0. However, there is definitely a shift in what streamers and other influencers think is the best content. Jukeyz reckons it will take a month or so to go from wild west metadata at launch to specific choices for optimal loading, so enjoy yourself.
But one thing that’s exciting (or scary) is the return of that glorious early version of the rocket launcher. Everyone who played the original Warzone remembers the first few weeks, with countless explosive-throwing trebuchets blowing up vehicles left, right, and center every match. Since Al Mazrah has more vehicles than anywhere else, Jukeyz expects it to return in a significant way.
“Yeah. We’re going to experience a powerful rocket launcher that blows everything up. I remember in Verdansk one of my teammates used to run around with an RPG and an MP7, shoot windows, and bring Running in with SMG. Like, wow. Everyone’s doing it, and it’s making my job really hard.”
So now, rock and roll as you please! If you want to play as fast and easy as the Jukeyz, take the M4 and AK74U and build quickly for those heart-pounding games. If you’re more of a ranged player, the size of the map means you’re up to it. In short, enjoy this wild ride until you settle on your unbeatable best option.
