Call of Duty is considered one of the biggest game brands ever and the leader in the shooter genre, but the franchise has avoided the Nintendo Switch to date. But that’s about to change, according to a new rumor.
With RalphsValve, a generally well-informed insider has now spoken up and chatted something out of the box about Activision’s plans for Call of Duty. An earlier part that is popular among fans should finally mark the premiere of the franchise on the switch, among other things.
To date, Call of Duty has always only made PC, Xbox and PlayStation unsafe. So that this can also work on Nintendo platforms in the future, a kind of first test balloon should now be started. If you believe the insider, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will be the first premium part of the shooter series to be released for the switch. An official confirmation from the publisher is still pending.
Such an announcement may not be too long in the future, as the insider speaks of an eventful two months ahead of us with regard to the series. Activision will probably not be long in coming with announcements.
Even far from the Switch debut, RalphsValve has some supposed information ready after it was said last month that the new Call of Duty planned for 2023 could be delayed – apparently due to technical challenges associated with the 2021 release of Call of Duty: Vanguard started.
Since Activision still wants to remain true to the annual release rhythm of the franchise, according to the insider, further remasters of previous titles could follow. According to RalphsValve, potential candidates for this are World at War, Call of Duty 1 & 2 and the optimized backwards compatibility of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered for the new generation of consoles.
