The State of Play rumors are piling up and everyone is excited, but you need to think about tempering your enthusiasm. Relax.
It is the rumor of the moment, Sony is preparing a State of Play and it will arrive very soon. We are informed for Tuesday, September 24ththat is, next week (at the time of writing these lines). Several reliable sources, including Jeff Grubb, point in this direction and a few days before the official announcement of the PS5 Pro, this is obviously not surprising. Especially since the date of the presentation of the latter had already been leaked and turned out to be true. We’re keeping our caution tweezers anyway, but it smells pretty good.
The next State of Play could disappoint the most optimistic
Whether it happens or not, this next State of Play raises high hopes for PlayStation fans. Everyone is expecting crazy things, big games and even surprises. However, the rumors from the hallways announcing the event make it clear that we should not expect anything crazy. In addition, Jeff Grubb (yes, him again) responded in this sense to a fan who wondered about the content of the Sony conference. “I don’t expect much (if anything) from the first parties”
No, don’t expect any major exclusives or big announcements. The Horizon Zero Dawn remaster, freshly spotted on the ESRB site, could certainly make a splash there, as could that of Days Gone, which has also been the subject of growing rumors in the last few hours.
This State of Play should of course also announce future PS5 Pro optimized games as they are released. Right now, the list of PS5 Pro optimized games isn’t very long, but we’re promised between 40 and 50 when the machine launches, so you’ll see.
Otherwise, it will be third-party games that should be presented at this conference, assuming it actually airs soon. At the moment there are a lot of suspicions, some theories, but nothing concrete. In any case, don’t expect anything big, not this time.
