News JVTech Can’t install Windows 11? The problem has finally been identified
Unfortunately, Windows 11 does not achieve the popularity expected by Microsoft. The latest OS isn’t lacking in quality, but it does run into a few issues, particularly with hardware compatibility…
A hardware problem when using Windows 11
Windows 11 is the latest version of Microsoft’s operating system to date. After numerous updates, the operating system is now very stable and perfect for all types of users, whether they are gamers or not. Unfortunately, despite an ultra-aggressive marketing campaign by Microsoft, Windows 11 fails to find a buyer. If you’re currently using Windows 10, you’re probably getting messages from Microsoft offering you a free upgrade to Windows 11. Also, desktop and laptop PC sales were very weak during the OS’s launch in mid-2021, hence this lack of enthusiasm for windows 11
In this context, a new problem emerges, this time a bit more complex, since it deals with hardware compatibility.
Currently, to install Windows 11 on a computer, you must be able to prove that you have a TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module) compatible processor, which is generally available on all processors that are less than 5 years old. During the installation of Windows 11, this checks whether your hardware is compatible with this standard, which is generally used to justify security on your computer.
All current processors are TPM 2.0 compatible, but some users are unable to install Windows 11 even with the latest generation Intel or AMD processors.
AMD processors in the crosshairs
It’s about the media Neuwin As we learn the news, many users are blocked when they want to install Windows 11. However, they are well equipped with a processor of the latest generation from AMD, all TPM 2.0 compatible.
According to Neowin, this error affects Windows AutoPilo, which is used to pre-configure your computer. Some users face error code 0x80070490 which simply prevents them from continuing with their installation. Microsoft describes the problem as follows:
TPM verification on AMD platforms with ASP firmware may fail and show error code 0x80070490 on Windows 10 and 11 systems. There is no update yet that can fix this problem.
As Microsoft says so nicely, there is still no answer to solve this problem. AMD has not yet provided any information about this fatal error. If this happens to you, the only solution that can fix this error is simply… to buy a motherboard…
Of course, this argument doesn’t necessarily have to remain relevant, as it would be foolish to make the user pay for a motherboard that has nothing to do with it. Microsoft is already working to fix this error, but if you ever encounter it, your only solution is: wait…
