As they point out sources consulted by VGC, M-Two, participant study in the creation of Resident Evil 3, has lost its role regarding the development of Resident Evil 4 Remake. From now on the project will be carried out mainly by the Capcom Division 1.
Although there is no official confirmation about this project, Andy Robinson has continued the information line started by VGC last year, when it announced that the title was one of the Japanese company’s future releases.
According to VGC sources, after a review of Capcom’s plans in late 2020, the decision was made that M-Two’s influence will be much less in RE4. Capcom Division 1, internal team responsible for titles of Resident Evil and Devil May Cry, will be the one who leads the set-up of the work.
Apparently, these sources suggest that the origin of this movement comes from the fact that M-Two seeks a more faithful reproduction of Resident Evil 4, based on the poor reception that Resident Evil 3 had.
On the other hand, Capcom’s production team prefers a direction that would see the RE4 remake draw inspiration from, of course, the original, but with its own take on features, story elements, and environments. not necessarily tight to the original. Something closer to what was seen in Resident Evil 2.
Therefore, these sources indicate that Resident Evil 4 Remake will see its development restarted under this new mandate, being able to delay its launch to the year 2023. Finally, Capcom refused to comment on this information to VGC before publishing its content.
What is certain is that Resident Evil: Village will arrive in just a few months, after the presentation made yesterday. In addition, it already has a demo for PS5 that you can try right now.
