- Warning: minor spoiling of Starfield
Finding interesting things in Bethesda Creations menus can be a challenge. There are quite interesting proposals for Starfield, especially for those explorers who have spent many hours exploring the universe. Not only in terms of content, but also the simplification of mechanics that have gone from being something original to a totally hated process.
Personally, it happens to me with the locks minigame. I don’t make them anymore because the time invested is rarely worth the loot. Plus, it cuts my rhythm and totally takes me out of the experience. In fact, in Fallout 76 I have a card active that automates this process at all lock difficulty levels. With this in mind, here are five creations that you absolutely must try.
No more skill challenges
Improve skills in Starfield It’s not as simple as gaining experience and earning skill points by leveling up your character. Each level requires completing a challenge (more or less) related to the effects we want: heal X amount of damage, destroy x number of ships, run x meters with our partner, hit x headshots, equip x modifications…
They are usually quite well planned, but many times they can be a headache. If you don’t like them, this Creation is for you. Is called Skill Challenges Removed (by Puff3r) and removes “the silly challenges required to level up the skill.”
Up to the point of chasing balls of light
I especially support this creation. If you’re a veteran explorer and have played several New Game+, you’re probably sick of the temple minigame. Chasing the little balls of light is fun during the first few hours, even when they disappear and reappear somewhere else, but it is very tiring after dozens of hours.
Companions in space, let us thank LBGSHI for its Creation called Auto-Solve Temple Puzzles. I could explain it, but his teleshopping style description is much better… and hints at how tired he finished doing the temples minigame.
Have you tired of darting to catch sparkles over and over again through a spherical structure during hundreds of temple visits? Did you enjoy the puzzle the first few times, but think your new powers should allow you to speed up the process a bit? Do you value your time and prefer to skip straight to the good part? Then this is the mod for you.
Where Bethesda fails, modders succeed
Bethesda fans have been waiting for a functional vehicle in one of their video games for years, especially in Fallout. There were no excuses Starfield and finally they added it. The REV-8 has completely changed exploration. And yet, its creators forgot some essential features.
Shade’s Vehicle Tuner Shadedness adds a good amount of features to the REV-8. You can set up a camp around it with work tables, add the option to spend time and environmental protection, automatic collection of plants, minerals and other resources when driving, remote control, inventory, lights, new secondary weapons… A lot of ideas that Bethesda should write down!
This is my REV-8. There are many others like it, but this is mine
If you are in love with your REV-8 and want to give it all the love possible, then I have the answer to your wishes. Outpost Garage + Invisible Landing Pad from MillsBuilds is a Creation that adds 3 new elements to the building system: two vehicle garages and an invisible landing pad for your ship.
The idea of the invisible landing pad is that your ship can park next to the garage without having a physical area as such. You choose the spot by placing the “invisible carpet”, as the creator calls it, and the ship will always appear parked at that point. It is a perfect creation to complement your base with a garage.
Escape!
This is the only Creation on this list that is not free. It costs 500 Creations Credits, which is 4.99 dollars. This is one of the few paid Creations content that I can recommend without hesitation. It is an escape room with touches of horror, mystery and puzzle solving.
“You have been confined to a remote star station; you must solve puzzles and ally yourself with those you least expect to escape with untold riches and stay alive,” says the description of Escape!, an official Bethesda creation. “Talk to a recruiter at the Astral Lounge to learn more.” I don’t want to say much about the plot. Just know that it is interesting and that it can take you about an hour.
