If you’ve read a superhero comic DC o Marvel in the last 30 years, it is more than possible that the wonderful drawings of Carlos Pacheco have passed before your eyes. The Spanish cartoonist became one of the most recognizable faces in the US market and His death was confirmed today..

The cartoonist has died at the age of 60 at the La Línea de la Concepción Hospital, Cádiz, after being diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) in September. The degenerative disease has been the cause of death, which revealed that he suffered on Facebook just a few weeks ago.

Originally from San Roque, Cádiz, Pacheco has been linked to the field of superheroes since his beginnings in Europe thanks to Planeta DeAgostini customizing the Spanish versions of characters such as fantastic four or the Captain America. However, his most important break came in 1993 when signed by the British division of Marvel Comics.

After directing the plots of different paper heroes, he took the responsibility in 2005 to lead an entire industry titan like Superman. Also very important is his link to the X-Menas well as surrounding characters and groups such as Bishop o Excalibur. In short, a very recognizable face of the two great world publishers such as DC and Marvel Comics.

A great passion for video games

Carlos Pacheco also distinguished himself by enjoying video games very much. Known was his passion for FromSoftware and the works created in the mind of Hidetaka Miyazaki. He played Horizon Forbidden West this year, one of his most anticipated titles, and he showed a great ability to vent a game as complicated as Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

From here we want to send all our encouragement and condolences to the family and friends of Carlos Pacheco.
