Adi Shankar is the creator of the Netflix Castlevania animation series. He will create and screen an upcoming PUBG-based animation project.
Krafton Inc. announced today that it has signed an animation PUBG project with Adi Shankar.
In addition to Castlevania, Shankar is also known for starring Liam Neeson’s Gray, killing them tenderly with Brad Pitt, and more Hollywood movies.
“As a player, I have been defeating opponents on the battlefield since PUBG was released in 2017,” Shankar said. “I thank Krafton for giving me the trust and confidence that allowed me to implement my vision as a filmmaker. I am very happy to embark on this journey together.
“For me, this animation project represents another step in the evolution of repairing the bridge between the gaming industry and Hollywood. I look forward to revealing what it looks like to win the chicken dinner.”
Krafton, Inc. CEO CH Kim said: “In addition to continuing to develop new and engaging in-game PUBG content, our partnership with Adi Shankar represents our broader strategy of expanding PUBG Universe into a multimedia franchise. One step. “We are very happy to work with Shankar to explore and realize a world that brings game life to our fans. We look forward to sharing more information about this animation project in the near future. “
This project is just the latest expansion outside of the game field, because PUBG Universe has previously been expanded with the recently released first live-action short film “Zero Land” (starring Don Lee). Then there is the investigative “documentary series” starring Jonathan Frakes, titled “Unknown Mystery: The Birth of the Battlefield”, which you can watch on it.
The PUBG franchise has more than 55 million players every day on all platforms, sales of more than 70 million copies on PC and consoles, and more than 1 billion downloads on mobile devices.
