The series implementation of the video game franchise Castlevania was so successful that Netflix produced four seasons. The last season is now on the plan and ended this series – but it may be in the same universe in other ways with the streaming service.
Netflix has confirmed that the fourth and final season of the Castlevania animated series will start shortly. The specific start date for the streaming service was announced via Twitter on May 13, 2021, and a new 48-second teaser clip was shown at the same time.
The fourth season will have 10 episodes and will end the story of the animated series. That doesn’t have to mean the end of Castlevania on Netflix, though.
Like the renowned magazine Deadline reports that there are internal efforts at Netflix to produce a spin-off to the already available Castlevania series, which is then set in the same universe, but relies on new characters. An official announcement in this regard is still pending, so you should still enjoy the report with the necessary caution.
The now ending Castlevania series started in 2017 with just four episodes. But these were successful enough that a second season got the green light, which could then be seen on Netflix in 2018. Season 3 made the leap in March 2020, before Season 4 in May 2021 now brings the story of Belmont and Sypha to an end.
