Netflix has released a new trailer for Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2, and it looks like everyone’s favorite blond vampire boy will play a major role.
It’s Netflix Geek Week, which means the streamer has a slew of announcements coming up, including Arcane, Black Mirror, and Avatar: The Last Airbender, among others. But the event kicked off with some Castlevania: Nocturne news, most notably the announcement that the animated series’ second season will be coming to Netflix next year, in January 2025. It’s only four months away, so you don’t have to wait that long, although it might be a little difficult – a trailer was released alongside the release date window, and while it didn’t show off too much of what’s to come in season two, it did make it clear that everyone’s favorite handsome vampire, Alucard, will be back to help Richter Belmont.
The trailer description on YouTube states: “Now, the legendary Alucard has joined Richter Belmont and his team of vampire hunters in a race against time. Seemingly unbeatable, vampire savior Ezsebet Bathory seeks the full power of the goddess Sekhmet so she can plunge the world into endless darkness and terror.” Those who watched the first season may remember that Alucard appeared in the final episode of season eight as a slight novelty, which was mainly to match the style of the sequel.

In a statement, co-producer Kevin Cord said of season 2, “I can confidently say that fans are in for the biggest, most insane Castlevania fight scene ever.” He provided more context for season 2, explaining, “Alucard will lead Richter and Annette to Paris in an attempt to find the final element that will allow Erzher Sabette to gain Sekhmet’s full power and become even more powerful than in season one.”
Castlevania: Nocturne features the aforementioned Richter Belmont, a descendant of Trevor Belmont, and is set 300 years after the original animated series, with Netflix describing the series as follows: “As revolution sweeps across France, Richter Belmont fights to preserve his family legacy and prevent the rise of a ruthless, power-hungry vampire ruler.”
