CD Projekt announced the acquisition of US-based developer The Molasses Flood-the studio responsible for The Flame in the Flood and Drake Hollow.
The Molasses Flood was founded in Boston in 2014 by veterans of the BioShock, Halo, Guitar Hero and Rock Band series. It will work closely with CD Projekt Red, but will retain its identity and will not merge with the existing team.
“We are always looking for a team that makes games with heart,” said Adam Kicinski, president and co-CEO of CD Projekt.
“Molasses Flood is as passionate about video game development as we are. They are experienced, quality focused, and have excellent technical insights. I believe they will bring a lot of talent and determination to the group.”
“Starting from The Molasses Flood, our goal was to create games that touch and inspire people,” said Forrest Dowling, head of the studio. “When CD Projekt asked us about the possibility of cooperation, we saw a rare opportunity to reach a wider audience by cooperating with our favorite companies and creating games in our favorite world.
“With the support of CD Projekt and its talented team, we are very happy to continue our mission.”
Molasses Flood will carry out its own project, which is based on an IP of CD Projekt. Detailed information about the project will be announced in the future.
