Since the Cyberpunk 2077 reviews were released, CD Projekt RED’s RPG has been in the news for several reasons. If the disastrous level of performance of the PS4 and Xbox One versions and the way the studio had to hide it is the focus of the discussions, another much easier subject is also virtually anchored. And CD Projekt RED has just commented on this topic.

To believe Philipp Weber, Cyberpunk 2077’s Senior Quest Designer, placing dildos within sight of the game team was a way to emphasize that the manners in Cyberpunk 2077 are not the same as in the world rel in 2020:
We wanted Night City to be really open about sex. Something that is considered taboo or naughty by the standards of our time is perfectly normal and common by the standards of 2077.
Changes are coming
Nevertheless, the same Philipp Weber explains that, despite this editorial choice, dildos should not have appeared in so large numbers in the game. This ubiquity is the result of poor adjustment:
The second reason why dildos are so large in the gaming world is their ability to appear as a random drop. And we were still adjusting these settings (when the game was released), which is why the number of dildos in the game world was very high, especially during the first tests of the game. We’ll be adjusting these settings so the dildos aren’t too distracting, appear too disjointed / where they don’t have to do anything and where our design dictates it. May those who enjoy the number of sex toys in Cyberpunk 2077 keep using them while there is still time. People who are shocked by the sight of a plastic penis in a PEGI 18 game will soon feel less aggressive.
