The next game from the license, The Witcher Sirius, will take the form of a spin-off offering an original experience. However, CD Projekt RED now seems to have other plans for the project.
The Witcher license hasn’t finished speaking yet. Alongside the Netflix series coming under fire from critics following the departure of Henry Cavill, the franchise still has a bright future on consoles and PC. No fewer than three new games are in development, including the highly anticipated The Witcher 4 and the remake of the first installment. The third project is more puzzling as it is a spin-off that would offer both multi-co-op and PvE. However, CD Projekt RED clearly didn’t like the original concept, so they were forced to make a decision.
The Witcher Sirius, an even more ambitious game?
The Witcher 4 may be the most anticipated game in the saga, but the small team at The Molasses Flood is working hard to bring the license an unprecedented experience. The studio acquired by CD Projekt RED is actually working on a new licensed game known internally as The Witcher Sirius. A still nebulous title that, in its original concept, was intended to offer a unique perspective on the universe created by Andrzej Sapkowski through a story that already has us as ” unforgettable
A decision that CD Prokjekt RED justified with the evaluation of the commercial potential The witch Sirius and its original concept, which obviously did not meet the requirements or did not meet his expectations. So the project, funded with 7.5 million dollars, is going in a new direction, but which one? The company did not provide any further information on the reasons for this decision and the future of this spin-off. The Polish publisher seems to see things bigger for the game, but at the moment it’s impossible to know if it will keep its multiplayer aspect or not. The witch Sirius should definitely offer a different experience and approach to the universe than is usually covered.
