“Research Phase” The Witcher 4 It’s over, which means the team at CD Projekt Red is ready to start development.
CD Projekt Group’s CEO Adam Kicinski told investors during its financial presentation for the first quarter of fiscal 2022 that the company is “eager” to get back into the franchise.
“We’re very eager to revisit the universe that has had such an impact on our history,” Kissinski said.
“We recently concluded the research phase for the first game of The New Witcher Saga, which means that further development spending will be capitalized on our balance sheet from now on.”
In March 2022, CD Projekt Red announced a long-term strategic partnership with Epic Games. The partnership will see future CDP games developed using Unreal Engine 5. The studio also announced at the time that it was working on adding more content to The Witcher series.
While CDP hasn’t revealed anything about the game, it did say that the Witcher medallion shown in the trailer is a lynx, which could point to an entirely new Witcher lineup.
Ahead of the release of the next game of the saga, you can satisfy your appetite by playing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S after its release later this year.
