CD Projekt RED releases official modding tool Cyberpunk 2077.
Released as a “DLC” for the game, it not only allows you to use, modify and create experiences, but also adds integrated support for installing and loading mods into the game.
This means you’ll be able to create custom sounds, animations, scripts, and more.
REDmod is a command line application th at will apply and remove compatible mods, as well as check for conflicts, it has a user-friendly UI, will provide on/off toggles for all installed compatible mods, and launch the game.
CDPR promises that it will be continuously updated with game patches to ensure compatibility, and to ensure that current mods will still work with the tool.
New mods require a specific format to be compatible, while mods currently using the old format will still work, but they will not appear in the REDmod menu.
“The only change you need to be aware of when modifying the game is whether the mod you’re adding is compatible with REDmod – if so, then they’ll use the toggle in REDmod/REDlauncher to create their mod entry,” NexusMods said. “If not, they’re in It still works when installed via Vortex or manually, but they don’t appear when using the new REDmod/REDlauncher.
If you’re a Cyberpunk 2077 modder, you’ll need to find out how this all works via the Cyberpunk modding support page, or click on the NexusMod link above.
You can download the optional DLC REDmod via Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store or the Cyberpunk modding page.
