LG uses CES 2021 to introduce 5 new PC monitors, including 3 for the gaming market. The program includes OLED or nano-IPS technology with extremely short response times in order to meet the expectations of the professional world and of gaming.
Three game models
And that’s exactly where we start with the presentation of The UltraGear series is aimed at gamers and consists of three models in 27, 31.5 and 34 inches. The LG 27GP950 therefore offers a 27-inch screen in 4K UHD (3840 x 2160 pixels) with 144 Hz and up to 160 Hz overclocking. VRR management is more welcome to avoid desynchronization when the frame rate is unstable. For synchronization, NVIDIA card owners will appreciate the presence of G-Sync, while others will benefit from FreeSync Premium Pro compatibility. Technically, this screen is based on a Nano IPS panel with a response time of 1 ms that the HDR 600 can display. The connection is obviously based on HDMI 2.1, which makes the screen perfect for the latest generation of consoles.
The 32GP850 model offers a 31.5-inch diagonal in Nano IPS with a Quad HD (QHD) resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels with a refresh rate of 165 Hz (Overclocking to 180 Hz). Here, too, we use a response time of 1 ms with synchronization of the G-SYNC and FreeSync displays.
Finally, the 34GP950G model offers 34 inch diagonal, in UltraWide 21/9. We have to do it on the ceiling side IPS QHD (3440 x 1440 pixels) with a refresh rate of 144 Hz (Overclocking to 180 Hz). The screen also benefits from NVIDIA G-SYNC® Ultimate certification for image quality, color accuracy and HDR performance and is suitable for AMD cards thanks to its adaptive sync synchronization. It is also VESA Display HDR600 certified like the 27-inch model.
LG UltraFine OLED Pro
The 32EP950 is presented as an editing and audiovisual creation model with accurate color reproduction and easy calibration. This monitor 31.5-inch 4K OLED is announced with 1,000,000: 1 contrast and supports the color modes Standard and BT.2100 PQ, P3 PQ to reproduce the entire range of the HDR signal. On the connectivity side, the monitor is equipped with a USB Type-C port with 90 W load, two DisplayPorts, three USB ports and one HDMI port.
A 40-inch ultrawide monitor
The 40WP95C is the latest in this presentation and offers a 40-inch nano IPS screen with a resolution of 5K2K UltraWide (5120 x 2160) and a wide format in 21: 9 format. The screen is usually office-oriented and emphasizes ergonomics and connectivity. Nevertheless, it is compatible with FreeSync with a response time of just under 5 ms, which enables good performance in games and videos. However, HDR compatibility is limited to HDR10 and the display frequency is limited to 72 Hz.
These 5 models that were unveiled at CES 2021 have no release date and no announced price yet.
