Notebooks were also one of the most sought-after products with fans and the press at CES 2022. No wonder, because the manufacturers have presented a whole range of new models. From technical innovations to compact gaming to sustainable high-tech, there was something for every taste.
Here we want to introduce you to the models that were among the absolute highlights of this year’s fair for us and tell you what make them so exciting in our eyes.
Lenovo ThinkBook Plus
With the ThinkBook Plus from Lenovo, the manufacturer takes mobile working to a new level. The notebook is equipped with a second display next to the keyboard. Not only can program links be opened on it, but notes can also be made using the stylus or the mobile phone mirrored.
Complemented by Windows 11, which in itself offers great potential for mobile devices and Android integration, the ThinkBook Plus could set new standards in the mobile working world.
Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 und Z16
Less innovative than designed with sustainability in mind, we liked the Z series from Lenovo. On the one hand, we of course welcome the fact that the Z13 and Z16 are made from a respectable proportion of sustainable and recycled materials.
On the other hand, Lenovo proves with the Z series that eco doesn’t always have to look like self-knitted sweaters. Because the Lenovo ThinkPads Z16 and Z13 clearly stand out from the crowd of gray (-like) designs. There is also a lot of performance hidden behind tasteful color accents in bronze and a vegan leather cover. An elegant combination that also has its price.
Acer Chromebook 315
The Acer Chromebook 315 is cheaper and less extravagant, but also designed with sustainability in mind. With the Acer Aspire Vero models, the company has already shown that high-tech and the environment do not have to be a contradiction in terms. However, they weren’t as affordable as the Chromebook 315.
Acer is offering the Chromebook for a starting price of around 400 dollars and it includes 12th generation Intel Core processors, Wi-Fi 6 and FHD resolution on an IPS panel with high viewing angles. Together with the environmental aspect, this is a real price-performance tip for this year’s CES.
HP Elite Dragonfly G3
Hybrid work is certainly one of the most popular topics for notebooks at this year’s CES. With the Elite Dragonfly G3, HP has presented a convertible Chromebook that proves itself not only as a computer, but also as a tablet, notepad and graphics tablet for indoors and outdoors.
Because with Gorilla Glass Type 3 and 19 passed MIL-STD exams, the Chromebook should become an indestructible mobile worker. But all creative users in particular should take a second look at the convertible. Because in addition to a high-resolution display, it can be used together with a stylus from Wacom.
Alienware x14
Gaming laptops also found their place at CES. One that could finally dispel the prejudice that gaming notebooks have to be big clunky plastic boxes is the Alienware X14.
It is not the most powerful model from Alienware – they can be found in the X-series and the M-series. But hardware that can replace many a desktop PC still works in the compact box, which weighs only around 1.8 kilograms.
