We know the world of video games and in general everything related to it is not a haven for women. Therefore, initiatives are required.
The small video game world isn’t kind to women, like French society, which still has a lot of strides to make to curb the violence and harassment that thousands of them suffer every day. Whether it’s corporate harassment like Blizzard or individual in the streaming world like Amouranth, change has to work. In “real” life, but also online. This is where FURAX comes into play.
A big charity drive with FURAX
In this very difficult context, not necessarily evolving in the right direction or fast enough, a team of volunteers led by streamers Nat_Ali etc joules with the support of organizations such as We all etc She is Imagine’nt wanted to start FURAX, a charity marathon, to draw attention to the problem. If the main goal is obviously to raise funds to help fight online harassment and gender and sexual violence, it’s also a good way to enlighten and open some men’s eyes. who are we honest don’t understand enough Considering the situation that their own girlfriends, their own sisters, etc. can experience at times.
The event takes place from February 25-26, 2023 and will also welcome content creators like nato, modes or even Usul, with the support of the Omen company. In total, more than 15 content creators will meet at the Alt Tab Productions studios in Ivry-sur-Seine (1300 m²) to mobilize for 48 hours. The guideline is: exchange, education for a fairer future.
Nat_Ali, main initiator of the project, explains:
With Furax, I wanted to create a charity event that finally takes on its 100% political side on Twitch. Guests are badass girls who fight every day to keep the place and dignity they deserve on Twitch, or allies who support the causes they care about. All in a safe and positive environment that dares to say things and fight for women.
An initiative that we hope will bear fruit. Obviously the project is still looking for sponsors to finance itself, potential partners can then register the official website to support the event.
